How Long Will the Therapy Treatments  Last?
Some therapy treatments will be as short as 30 minutes or as long as 60 minutes. It depends on your diagnosis.  45 to 60 minutes is the normal.  You might see a therapist once a week or a few times a week. Therapy treatments can take a few weeks or a few months to complete.

What Should I Wear to Physical Therapy?
For your initial physical therapy visit, it is important to wear (or bring) clothing that will allow us to evaluate your injury. For example, if you have a knee injury, please bring shorts. If you have a shoulder injury, please bring a tank top.
If your therapy consists of exercise, please wear or bring closed toe shoes and appropriate exercise clothing.

How Can Occupational Therapy Help Me ?
Occupational therapists help individuals who have had an injury, illness or disease interfere with the ability to perform the activities of daily life. These activities can include work skills, self-care, or any activity which is necessary or desired part of the patients life. An evaluation is performed to determine strengths and function deficits; some examples are cognitive assessment, safety awareness, fine and gross motor skills, pre-vocational and work abilities for the employed, and activities of daily living such as dressing or home arrangement. Treatment will generally include education, goals to be achieved through a targeted therapeutic plan, and preventative post-treatment care. In those instances where one must live with a new long term disability, the occupational therapist can indicate ways in which to adapt the home or work environment, teach the use of adaptive equipment, and educate family members. At R&R, or occupational therapist will work to optimize the patient's functional independence.
